Purchasing condominium insurance can be confusing. As the owner of a condominium unit, your insurance needs are different than those of a home owner. Condominium associations generally purchase master policies that cover the common areas. The coverage does not include damage to your personal items or personal property within your unit. In addition, the master policy does not cover your personal liability in the event of a lawsuit if someone is hurt on your property.
